Greyed out VI Icons in the LabVIEW hierarchy

I see many greyed out icons in the LabVIEW hierarchy view.

I cannot find any information that explains what this is supposed to represent.

Any suggestions?

Are these VIs that you wrote, or VIs that came with LabVIEW? 3rd party VIs?
