Following Error goes to 32767 before motion even starts!

I had everything working yesterday on this motion stage:
PCI-7356
LV233 stepper
US Digital encoder
Primatics Drive

Now today when I connected everything using Phoenix Contact varioconnectors - the following error is going to the maximum amount as soon as the board is initialized and the loop control set to Closed.

I triple checked my connections and the encoder is wired properly - why would the following error go to maximum before any motion is even commanded?

Hello RVallieu,

If the following error shows up before any motion has been commanded, this may be an error from the previous run.  What is the encoder position reading when you are trying to initialize?  If you reset the position, does the error still occur?  Typically the following error does not clear unless you reset the position to match back up with the encoder.

If you compare your position and encoder position values, do they exceed following error limit that is currently set?  Hopefully this helps.  Please let us know if you would like further explanation or assistance regarding this issue.

I got it all sorted - it was a combination of too many microsteps, and then one of the manufacturers documents were incorrect for which channels were mapped to A and B.

I now have 3 of my six stages running as they should.  I'll finish testing the rest ASAP.

Thanks for the help.
