Hello,
For a control of punched steel-strips, I need to measure (size and position) all the holes that are punched.
The holes have different shapes. Round, oval, slot or keyhole.
I take pictures during the throughfeed of the steelstrip and I have to process them at +/- 5Hz.
I need to find all the holes in my pictures, and find out what - kind of hole it is
- the size of the hole is
- the position of the hole is.
Taking the pictures, fitting a round hole, measuring the position is no problem.
But I can't fit an oval hole, a slot or a keyhole. Let alone that I have to find out what kind the hole is ... ![]()
Does anyone has an idée of how you can start on this...
Thanks in advance!

If you're using Vision, I guess BLOB analysis is you key answer.
You can find multiple examples in LabVIEW om how to use this.
