FPGA 1.1 --> missing bitstream after compilation

Hi there,

I got a rather strange problem: I haven't used FPGA 1.1 (7.1.1 patched) for a while and now I seem to be unable to produce valid FPGA VIs. If I open the .lep file, the Project manager indicates changes in the project just from having opened it. Saving the project and recompling succeed in the way, that I don't get error messages, so the compile server succeeds producing the bitstream. When I close the porject afterwards and reopen it, LabVIEW shows again changes in the project and demands to recompile the FPGA code.

After the compilation, the FPGA VI has a change in creation date, so it seems that something has been done with it. When loading the FPGA VI using BitstreamManager2, it will tell me that the Bitstream was out of date. Strange, isn't it?

The only thing that I'm aware of having changed in the meantime (that has to do at least a little bit with RIO) was installing NI-Sync2.0. I'vre already tried to repair NI-RIO 1.3.1 installation, but it wouldn't help.

Any ideas apart from installing / reinstalling the whole software package or upgrading to 8.x (which is definitely no option at the moment)?

Cheers
Oli

Hi Oli,

the first thing you could do is to Open a complete new Project and add your VIs.
Also you can make a MassCompile.

When saving the Project, be sure to use "Save All", so that every VI really will be saved.

Hi Dippi,

I tried setting up a new project, the effect stayed the same Smiley Sad
In my despair I tried to run the compile server on a different computer, still no valid bitfile associated with the VI. Upgrading to RIO 2.1.0 didn't help either.

Funny enough, bitstream manager shows the actual compile date, but it demands a new compile.....

Looks to me like un- / reinstalling the whole NI stuff over the weekend.... Smiley SadSmiley Mad

Cheers

Hi Oli,

seems like this would be the next step.
If you desinstall the NI products, please use the MSIBlast (see Attachment)

I hope after reinstalling the whole thing, everything will run as expected.

I know it takes a little time to reinstall everything...sorry for that.

Regards
