I am trying to run the Main vi but i am not getting the results i want. In the conduction velocity vi i have a read from spreadsheet vi to read an excel file. The excel file is a 9x9 matrix. When the spreadsheet vi reads it it is a 47x5 matrix now. Why is this?

Hi reggie,
FAIL! 😄
Do you know the difference between a spreadsheet file and an "Excel" file?
You use ReadFromSpreadsheetFile to load an Excel file: this will not work for files in proprietary MS-Excel file format (like your XLSX file)!
Spreadsheets are just text files using delimiter chars to separate elements in a table.
The LabVIEW help explains all this pretty clear - did you read it? The help for this function starts with "Reads … from a numeric text file"…

Oh alright thanks for the information.

The Good News, however, is that since you have LabVIEW 2014, the Report Generation Toolkit is included, and that does a really fine job of reading Excel files, even the (newer) .xlsx format.

Yes, you can use the report generation toolkit. You have to (unintuitively) open a new report with your Excel file as the template.
