Event callback variable values

Hi there!

I found a vi that works great for indentifying new files in a directory; however I am trying understand why I cannot transfer the "new file name" textbox data to another control or variable, say for example a global. When I connect the "new file name" control to another variable or control, they don't get updated. I have tried multiple examples like this and found the same issue.

Hello Again,

I just answered my own question. I simply needed to change the "New File Name" property node in the callback vi from "value" to "val(sgnl)". I guess I forgot my labview 101 lesson.

Hope this helps anyone who runs into this issue.
