Event Structure and more

Hi all,

i'm stumped in this vi. I'm trying to create several testings and user can choose to either run one or all tests at one time so i intend to implement boolean. For now i managed to get one test running first but when i add in the event structure, it keeps getting timed out. Should i wire the tab control icon and how?
I looked through the materials in 'Introduction_to_LabVIEW_8_in_3_Hours' but in vain.

Please help, thank you. I'm still new in labview.
Currently using version 8 labview, winsxp, anritsu bluetooth test set device,GPIB cable.

Thank you.

microes,

as far as i can see you are looking for a introduction to event driven programming. You can find many helpful links in the knowledgebase and forum as well as in the LabVIEW help. If you never had the chance to gather some experience in this subject, you propably want to attend a LV course (intermediate 1 would be the one here) from NI.

hope this helps,
Norbert

What I noticed in your VI is that for some of the commands, you are appending a \n. If you meant to append the line feed character, you are not doing that. You are appending the characters '\' and 'n'. You would need to right click on the string constant and select '\' Codes Display in order to correct send the control character. You shouldn't need to append the LF character at all. You also have the front panel Boolean's mechanical action set to Switch When Pressed. You should change it to Latch When Released.
