Error9 occurred at Dflt Data Dir.vi...VI Version (7.1) is newer that Labview Version (7.0)

Hi,

I want to use the MS Office Report.vi from the Report Generation Toolkit 1.1, but if I want to place the VI in the diagramm Labview show me the error: "Error9 occurred at Dflt Data Dir.vi...VI Version (7.1) is newer that Labview Version (7.0)"

I am using Labview 7.0. How can I make that the VI runs at Labview 7.0 as well? Any idea? Or did I something wrong?

Basically, the only way to make a LabVIEW 7.1 vi run under 7.0 is to load it into the 7.1 development system and then do a "Save with options", "Save for previous". I'm not sure if this works for the toolkit you mention as I don't know if it contains any items that are version specific (there are things in the 7.x version of LabVIEW that won't translate backwards to 6.x for instance). Is the toolkit a recent purchase, as National Instruments ships the toolkits that are compatible with the current version of LabVIEW, which is 7.1 / 7.1.1

.

P.M.

Hi thanks for your help... the toolkit is compatible with Labview 7.0 or later...I can't open the VI because I don't have Labview 7.1 I have only Labview 7.0 is there another possibility to open it with 7.0?

It sounds like you ordered the wrong version of the toolkit. Talk to your local sales engineer or NI directly to see about getting a replacement. The other possibility is that the CD contains both 7.0 and 7.1 versions and you installed the wrong one. I don't know about this since I don't have the toolkit. Normally, you could  post 7.1 version VIs to the forum and someone could convert them to 7.0 but you do NOT want to do this with a toolkit.
