Error in executable

Hi

In my executable I get error 7. I input an output filename and error 7 pops up.

It reads :

Error 7 occurred at new file

Labview : File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on windows,: on Mac Os, and / on Unix.

Thank you.

I know this is a long-shot but...

Check if the directory (full path) where you want to read / write data exists. What I mean is if you hardcoded the pathname and the path or directory changed, then the code cannot open or create the file.

Also could be a problem with the output filename including illegal characters, trying to overwrite a protected file, disk full, and similar disk operation problems.

Martin

PS: As far as I remember, error 7 also occurs if not all subVIs are included in the executable. Most are included automatically, but the dynamically called VIs you have to include manually. Check the "VI settings" pane to see if all relevant VIs are included, and if not, add them at the "Source files" pane.
