Error code 6: Generic I/O error with cRIO TDMS

Hi,

I am trying to use the TDMS VIs in LabVIEW 8.6, but the open TDMS VI is giving me error code 6, the "Generic I/O error".  The file path is specified like this: "c:\data\lotsofdata.tdms".  Anyone out there have an idea of what I could do to get this working?  Please let me know if I can provide more info about the error!

Hi,

Please change your path from ""c:\data\lotsofdata.tdms" to ""C:\data\lotsofdata.tdms", to make the "c" upper case.

That's a known bug and will be fixed in the next version.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow.  I saw this post:

Which said to use a lowercase "c", and my c was already lowercase.

It should be upper case, you can try it tomorrow 🙂 and post here if there's still any problem.

Changing the C to uppercase didn't work. 😞

However, I switched over to the G TDMS library and it's working fine.

Oh sorry, I made a mistake, it should be lower case, only lower case "c" could work in LabVIEW 8.6 on VxWorks. Then your problem of error 6 is not related to the upper/lower case problem. Would you please tell me whether you have such a directory there? Or would you like to post some screenshot of your block diagram of your VI? I'm not sure what other reasons could cause error 6. Thank you.
