Error Reading myDAQ Hookup in LabView

I initially hooked up my myDAQ instrument into my computer with my LabView software with LabView reading its connection. Since then, the LabView software will not read the myDAQ. I have tried restarting the program, unplugging and plugging back in, restarting the drive read with the myDAQ plugged in and my computer still will not read that the myDAQ is connected.

Any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this?

Try the following:

  • Unplug your myDAQ from your computer.
  • Reboot the Computer.
  • Log in, but don't (yet) plug in the myDAQ.
  • Open MAX (NI's Measurement and Automation Explorer -- its icon should be on your desktop.
  • Expand Devices and Interfaces.  You may or may not see myDAQ there (but disconnected).
  • Plug in the myDAQ.
  • If it shows up, then your PC can "talk" to the myDAQ.  If your code doesn't run, it's your code (and we have to worry about fixing Software).
  • If the myDAQ does not show up, it's either a Bad Cable (easy to fix), Bad myDAQ (less easy, more expensive to fix), or Bad Computer (also more expensive).  Take your myDAQ to another PC with MAX and try it (with a different USB cable, of course).

Good luck.
