Error Message "There was a problem sending the command to the program"

Hi there, 

I'm using windows 8.1 and for the past few months I was able to use LabVIEW 2014 without any problems. But when i tried to open any labview file today, the error message pops out.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!

This might be an old thread, but there can be people out there who encounter it again, so let me share my experience with you.

I had the same error on Windows 7 with LabVIEW 2011 and the solution for me was easy as follows:

- Set the default program for lvproj and vi files to notepad.exe

- Set it back to Labview

That is all, after I did this, the problem disappeared. I wonder what might be the background of it.

PS: I did not write this comment to the referred thread because there the problem went to a different direction
