Error -66208 shared variable. Reading data from the encoder (NI-9411).

Hello.

Error -66208 - Shared Variable in EncoderRT.vi->RT main.vi<APPEND>
This error or warning occurred while reading the following Shared Variable:
\\NI-cRIO-9056-01E389ED\Mod5\CTR0
\\192.168.255.4\Mod5\CTR0

An error occurs when reading data from a variable CTR0.

In other modules, analog and digital signals are read and written correctly. Restarted the service (NI Variable Engine).

What could be the reason for the error?

Hello,

I found out that error -66208 is "Invalid variable refnum. Either the variable was deleted after the reference was opened or a valid reference was never opened."

There are few reasons for this error to occur:

1. The module is not connected properly.

2. The variable did not match up in the Distributed System Manager as the user-defined has been modified

Please try out the following to see if it helps:

1. Reinsert the module

2. Create another variable

3. Use another channel
