EPICS Client I/O Server problem

I have downloaded and installed the LabVIEW EPICS Client I/O Server add-on for LabVIEW 2011. I do not use

LabVIEW DSC or RT. I followed the instructions here:

http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2533/lang/en

I test it with a new empty project. , select My Computer-> New-> I/O Server and then in the "Create New I/O Server" window

select "EPICS Client", then press "Continue...". Nothing happens. The expected window labeled "Configure EPICS Server I/O Server"

never appears.

Multiple attempts after reboots etc. make no difference. Nothing happens after clicking "Continue...". Switching firewall on/off

makes no difference.

But when I do the same thing on a colleague's PC, the "Configure EPICS Server I/O Server" window appears, and I can configure

and use the EPICS Shared Variables OK. The same download file had been installed as on my machine.

We are both running the same version of LabVIEW (2011), the same version of Windows (XP) and have checked

that we have the same set of NI software installed.

Any suggestions as to how I might track down what is different about my PC that causes the problem? Is there some

aspect of the configuration of O/S or LabVIEW which might have this effect?

Hi PipT,

I'm investigating this for you and currently cannot see any reason why this would happen.

Could you clarify the following:

-Did you install the EPICS Client I/O server add-on with any anti-virus turned off?

-Does this issue happen for any other I/O server, or is it only for an EPICS client?

-Did either PC have any previous NI software installed, before being updated to this configuration?
