Has anyone found a way to calculate dimensions from an image given the knowledge of one dimension?
I'm hoping to reverse engineer dimensions of an object given a photo and prior knowledge of at least one dimension visible on the photo.
I understand that you would need to correct for perspective errors, but the accuracy of dimensions could be increased using multiple images from different viewpoints.
Have you considered trying NI Vision? There are software tools there that achieve everything you've mentioned in your post. This would be quite difficult to do otherwise.
