Different office version

Dear:
I have a big problem. I've created a simple vi that open an Excel file. In my PC I have Office 2003, but the machines where the executable will run has different office versions (97, 2000, XP).
Do you know how to resolve this problem?
Thanks, Clecio.

Hello Clecio,

how does the error look like? Does LV not open the desired file? Have you tested the VI / exe on the other PC?

Dear Tomas:

Yes, I tried to run the .exe in various PC's. Before you ask me, I put the 'dynamic vi' when I builded aplication. I tested this executable in another PC that has Office 2003 and the .exe ran normally.

Thanks.

Clecio,

just a gues, but...
You utilize one of the report generation files. AFAIR the installer of that toolkit asks for the office version to use. So the error code you see is probably some kind of 'wrong office version' or 'function not found' in the call to excel.
If you  open the 'new report.vi', you'll recognize that it calls a subVI dynamically. Try to open this SubVI yourself and add a breakpoint early into this SubVI. Than you can step into its calls and find out where it happens and maybe even why.

Just my € 0.02!
