DAQ board + view sensor temp and pressure + labview, how to run all item with LV ?

hi all,
it seems my duty almost clear....i just make manual programe with labview. So I have a case at my campus. We have a spakr-ignition machine, we use it for know how much we consume fuel, torque. I have a some PCI card (DAQ) some interface to connect it to PC. And I'm confiused to organize all item. Could you guys give some explanation for connected them with labview ? I will post a DAQ pic and interface pic.

thx

A starting point is to look at the outputs of each of your sensors/transducers and ensure that they are compatible with the inputs available on your DAQ card.

For example:

You DAQ card accepts 0-10VDC analog inputs. Does your torque transducer transmit 0-10VDC? If it does then you should be able to connect it directly to an analog input channel.

If it does not then you will need to make/buy a signal conditioning module to convert the signal to the desired level.

You need to decide the method of connection (single ended, differential). Do a search on ni.com for an explanation (or refer to the DAQ card's documentation).

Hello maput,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Ssk's suggestion of a starting point is a good place to begin.  Many of our DAQ cards can handle -10 to 10V analog signals, however you may also have digital signals as well.  Some places to look for how connect everything together are listed below:

Here are some other good links to help you get started with programming:

If you provide the model numbers for your DAQ card as well as any connector blocks or cables you have,  it would help even more than pictures.  I hope these links give you some place to start.  Please post back with any other questions you have.

one PCI card (is this DAQ board ? )  PCI-1710HG-B and PCLD-8710. Both made by  ADVANTECH. So can labview read them well? about sensors...i forgot what type it is ? i will tell you latter..

thx

Hi Maput,

Yes the PCI cards are you DAQ (data acquisition) cards.

I have just had a look on the Advantech website and LabVIEW drivers appear to be available for download.

The Advantech website link to get LabVIEW VI's for the PCI-1710HG-B are located here. As for your sensor inputs, you will need to look at the specifications of the DAQ board and make sure that your board can handle the inputs created by your sensors.
