DAQ Assistant error -209836

I am getting the DAQ Assistant error -209836 when trying to configure an NI-9189 chassis with an NI_9213 thermocouple module to read out 8 channels:

The devices in your task cannot be synchronized. This may be because there are no available synchronization mechanisms between the devices.
Some synchronization paths are not available in interactive tools like the DAQ Assistant. To determine whether synchronization between these devices is possible, try deploying and executing your task in your application environment.

Also, I am not sure if this error stems from the DAQ Assistant VI or if it relates to a hardware issue. If I am wrong I would like to be shown where I should go from here.

I am attempting to create a VI with a DAQ Assistant module but when I configure the VI, it gives me the error. This error can be seen in DAQAssistant.PNG. The VI can be seen in LabVIEW.PNG that is trying to pull 8 thermocouple channels with the attached modules. The setup can be seen in NIMAX_Config.PNG that has two NI-9189 chassis daisy-chained with a few modules in each.

I have also shown the DAQ working in NI MAX collecting one channel, NIMAX_Working.PNG.

For context, here has been my workflow of trying to get the data acquisition to work. I currently have the computer set up in the lab home without any internet so I have to connect the computer to my university WiFi to connect my LabVIEW license. Then, I disconnect this to allow the DAQs to use the ethernet cable:

  1. Boot up computer.
  2. Open NI MAX and test that I can get the thermocouple reading from the DAQ. (NIMAX_Working.PNG)
  3. Connect the lab desktop to my iPhone hotspot. Then use a VPN to get onto campus internet, which my LabVIEW license is tied to.
  4. Once I connect to the campus internet, I open LabVIEW and disconnect the WiFi. (LabVIEW.PNG)
  5. This is where I get the error creating the DAQ Assistant VI. (DAQAssistant.PNG)
  6. Then, I try to connect to the NI MAX again after these errors with the LabVIEW. I am unable to get the thermocouple channel to work again. (NIMAX_Error.PNG)

I have also looked at my drivers and the software versions to make sure that all of them are compatible, finding nothing wrong with them. I am not too sure what to do from here. I figured it is due to the network card going between the WiFi and the ethernet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I am wondering if there has been any development on this subject area. I am getting the same errors in this thread.

@Tomwell17, it looks like your query is completely unrelated to the original post, please do not hijack other's posts. Please create a new post under the DAQ board or LabVIEW board (only if the issue is with programming in LabVIEW and not the hardware itself)
