DAQ Assistant Not Shown in Input Library

Hello all,

I have read a number of forums regarding missing DAQ Assistant VIs in the Labview input library and i have not found a solution to the issue of why that VI is missing from my library. Here is a bit of background, I am using Labview 2013 and I currently have NI-DAQmx 14.2 driver installed. Labview 2013 was installed before the NI-DAQmx 14.2 driver so I don't belive that is the issue. 14.2 is also compartiable with Labview 2013 so that also shouldn't have been the issue. I tried downloading NI-DAQmx 9.8, 14.2, and 16.1 (separate trials of course), but this also doesn't seem to resolve the missing DAQ Assistant. My next guess was that i had to uninstall previous NI-DAQmx drivers before installing different versions. So I got rid of 9.8 and 16.1, but when I tried to get rid of 14.2 it wanted me to delete multiple drivers, but I wasn't sure why. I have yet to delete 14.2 because I wasn't sure if I should delete all of those drivers.

Does know if I should be deleting anything else other than the NI-DAQmx driver? Is there any other ideas as to why I can't get DAQ Assistant to appear in the input library?

Thanks,
Luke

Do you have daq assistant anywhere in programs? You can add it manually into express/input

On block diagram Tools -> Advanced -> Edit palette set. Navigate to existing Assistant, copy its path.

Navigate to Express\Input palette, right click to add file, paste directory path.

When you do this, it will copy default palette into

C:\Users\_CurrentUser_\Documents\LabVIEW Data\201X(32-bit)\Palettes\menus\Categories\Express\dir.mnu

If this is already there, may me this is the reason it is showing edited palette, not default one...

Thank you for your reply. I found the DAQ assistant in the input library when I went through the advanced settings that you described. However, it head a question mark in place of its icon. Does this mean that it is not in the library?
