Customizing Controls and Indicators

Is it possible to remove the borders around Labview controls and indicators? By "borders," I mean the shaded lines that make the control appear 3-D.

I'd like to have only the text within a control or indicator visible on the front panel.

Thanks,

Tom

I don't think you can remove the borders, but you can use the "Simple String" control from the Controls>>Clasic Controls>>String & Path palette. There is also a numeric version of this control in Controls>>Clasic Controls>>Numeric. These controls have no borders, and you can paint them transparent so that only their contents is visible.

Hope this helps...

The easiest way of doing this is to use the coloring
tool to make most or all of the control be transparent
except for the text.

It might be easiest to also start with the simple or
classic controls. Another thing that helps is to
pay attention to the color menu. Hitting the space
bar while the color menu is up will toggle between
the foreground, background, and both colors.

Many of the objects you are coloring have two colors,
one on the edge and another for the inner background.
Also color clicks on the
different areas of the control
will color different objects.
