Creating Virtual Device in MAX

I can't figure out how to setup a virtual motion controller for the firewire version of the 7344 controller.  MAX defaults to PCI and I can't figure out anyway to change it.  In general, there is very little information to be found on setting up a firewire controller in Labview.

Hi chemphd,

What version of MAX and the NI-Motion drivers are you using? Unfortunately, the FW-7344 is a legacy device that will not be supported by newer versions of software. The FW-7344 is only compatible with LabVIEW versions earlier than LabVIEW 8.0 and NI-Motion 7.0 and earlier.

It is very likely that you will not be able to simulate the FW-7344 controller in MAX, due to these limitations. However, simulating the PCI-7344 will allow you to set up a program to work with a 4-axis motion controller and look into the different settings that can be altered and reconfigured.

I hope that information is helpful and helps clarify things.
