Creating Similar Waveforms

I need to use an original waveform to create an "envelope" around itself. The waveform has many peaks and valleys. The "envelope (a waveform above and below)" must be exactly the save distance from the original at all points. This is where I'm running into problems. I can create similar waveforms, but when they curve up or down the distance from the original waveform changes. I hope someone can assist me with this.

Isn't it just a matter of adding or subtracting a constant from each point in the original waveform? You can do this just by wiring the waveform array into either the add or subtract function and wiring a constant into the other input.

I wish it was that easy. See the attached file for reference. Look at the top graph and notice how the distance between the envelope and the original changes as the waveform slopes up and down.
