Could not find VI resource

Hi everyone,

  Since the lab computer has broke down,  I reinstalled Labview 5.1.1 together with IN-DAQ driver software and plugged in the DAQ board (PCI-6024E). Then I tried to run copies of previous VI codes. Unfortunately, Labview said error code 8: Could not find VI resource. I searched some solutions related to this problem, some suggested that these VI codes can be open by higher versions of Labview and then can be saved as for lower version. But I only have Labview 5.1.1, what else can I do to deal with this problem? Thank you very much!

Error code 8 as I recall was "generic" file error. What that typically meant was a permissions problem.

When exactly does this error appear? Opening VIs? Running VIs?

It happened when I opened a VI.

Any VI or one particular one? What exactly is the error that you get?

Hi Mike,

     I can't open all the codes shown in the attachment. After I hit one of the codes, the error came saying "Could not load VI resource", which is also shown in the attachment. Thank you so much!

After you get the message, does the VI open but is broken or does it not open at all?
Where did these VIs come from? Are they part of a driver package? Are you sure you have all the drivers installed?

Hi Mike,

     Those codes I tried to run were written by students who have graduated many years agao, and l failed to reach them, so I'm not sure what is the resouce of these codes. I remebered that when I installed the driver software, there was an error "can not find installation information: 322153". After installation, when I hit the code, error code 8 showed up. And I hit OK, then an empty VI opened. The following are installation information and installation error, error code 8 and the empty VI. Thank you so much!
