Hello. In my VI file, all the characters CR, LF were replaced by CRLF. Is it possible to restore vi?

Hi dobrov,
Is it possible to restore vi?
The best place to restore VIs is to get them from a SCC repository!
The next best place is a backup you have made from your code before you converted all EOL chars… 😄
3rd option: try all possible combinations of replacing all CRLF chars by either CR, LF or CRLF until your VI is readable again…

in the file there are about 5000 such characters. 3 in a level 5000.... 4.038e+2385 combinations. I already tried 10. How to recover VI of the exe?

Hi dobrov,
How to recover VI of the exe?
Which "exe" are you talking about?
You have the options I told above. (I can add a 4th option: recreate the VI from scratch.)
Lesson learned: use a SCC system. Or create backups of your work regularly!

You cannot recover a VI from an executable which was built using the VI.
If the executable is debuggable, you should be able to navigate to the block diagram which will help in the fourth option GerdW gave. SCC is still the correct answer though even if it doesn't help you fix the immediate problem.

I can usually extract intact VIs from a corrupted .llb (never pull a removable drive when a .llb is open), but I've never been able to restore a corrupted VI.
