Converting voltage to strain

I need to convert voltage from a strain gauge to strain (usina Wheatstone brdge). The gauge is placed on a cantilever and needs to be used to count objects using strain values. How do ui write the code in labview to do this?

There is a couple of ways to do this. If you are using NI-DAQ version 6.9 or later you can create a virtual channel that will do the scaling for you.

In the Measurement and Automation Explorer right click on Data Neighborhood and select create new virtual channel. Follow the wizard: Analog input> name your new channel > Strain Gage > set bridge paramenters > set the daq hardware you are using > Finish

There is also a function in LabVIEW that will do the scaling. Look in the DAQ pallet > Signal Conditioning > Convert Strain Gauge Reading.vi

There is an example that ships with LabVIEW that uses this vi. Look in \\\examples\daq\solution\transduc.llb\Continuous Strain Measurement.vi

Happy Diagramming!
