You are not using Local Variables in that manner within your code, are you?

Look carefully and you will identify a potential race condition. (small chance, but not impossible in the code above).

There is no need for the Locals, plus you've created a Rube Goldberg code.

Oh thats because the input data is 1d array,  I had assumed it was 2d for the former.
