Controls Toolkit installation problem.

I need to install the Controls Toolkit to work with Elvis and the Quanser DC Motor Trainer.

I proceed with the installation routine, which seems to work, but when you go to the tools pallete, the Controls block is non-functional with a large "?" mark in the block.

John,

When you say Controls Toolkit, do you mean Control Design Toolkit or PID Control Toolkit?

In general, the question mark means that it did not install the toolkit properly. Try to verify if the version of the toolkits are correct. Please try to give some more information about it.

Thanks

I thought the latest academic release contained both the Controls Design toolkit and the PID toolkit on the red colored CD, though I may be mistaken.

I need the Simulation Module and the Controls Design toolkit to support the Quanser trainer (ELVIS based).

Maybe I am missing an installation CD?  I received both the Controls Design toolkit and the PID toolkit in previous releases.

John,

The best way to find out what you have installed is to go Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel of Windows and go to National Instruments folder. In there, you should be able to see what you have installed and which version it is installed. The version of LabVIEW and the toolkits are important since they could be version sensitive.

For example, you can't use the Simulation Module 2.0 with LabVIEW 8.20. If you try to install, it will not show correctly and it won't work.

So, the best is for your to determine what you have installed right now (with all versions) and, based on that, we can better help you to fix this problem.

Hope this helps!
