Constant current source

I wondered if it is possible to generate a constant current source of just a few nano-amps using a labview program. If so are there any examples I could use or modify for my application.

thanks,

Martin,

The LabVIEW program cannot by itself generate nanoamps, kiloamps, volts or anything else. You need some knid of hardware. If you used a D/A converter with a 10 volt output range and a 10 gigaohm resistor in series you would get 1 nanoamp. However 10 gigaohm resistors are not routinely available or easy to use. Therer are instruments available which can produce low currents and can be controlled via GPIB, which cna in turn be controlled from LV.

If you tell the forum what you are actually trying to do, somone may have an idea about how to approach your problem.

Current sources are notoriously dependent on temperature.

This looks ike a start
