Connect to network printer programatically

Hi All
Is it possible to connect directly to a network printer
using gpib or visa dll directly (i.e. low level C Code). I don't want to use
LabView for the purpose. Could I get some example code.
Thanks
Pardeep

If you're trying to connect for printing of a file, neither GPIB or VISA is going to help you. They're for instrument control. If you want example code for some language other than LabVIEW, then the LabVIEW forum is probably not the best place to ask for it. NI has spearate forums for GPIB, VISA, LabWindows CVI, etc. and there are dedicated newsgroups for C. Try soemthing like alt.comp.lang.c or alt.comp.lang.c++.

I had to work on the prototype that defined the difference
of using LabView and C API and the advantages of LabView.
So the easiest way is to connect to the printer and show how much
programming effort is required and I am new to this field so I had some
problems. But I have successfully connected to the printer using VISA.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Pardeep
