Compatibility between cDAQ-9174 & NI-9215 with Labview 8

Hi, I have several questions:

I have a program in Labview 8 version. I will make a second system with the same program using cDAQ-9174 and NI-9215 BNC.

1. Are cDAQ-9174 & NI-9215 compatible with Labview 8?

2. I bought a new Labview license (Full Development) for my second system. When I download the new license with the Serial Number provided by NI, can I choose to download Labview 8? Or do I only have the option of the newer versions of Labview?

Thank you

1. This is a question of comaptibility between LabVIEW, DAQmx and the specific hardware. Did you check the NI website like here and here? There is a minimum version of DAQmx to support the cDAQ device, and there is a maximum version of DAQmx supporting your LabVIEW8 software. You need to choose a DAQmx version supporting both HW and SW…

2. Why do you even want to stick with LabVIEW8 when you can use LabVIEW2020 instead? Why rely on 15 years old software?

Best regards,

1. Thank you.

2. I have a program that was built on an older version, usually when I copy/open that old program on a newer version of Labview, there's errors and I will need to do adjustments for those errors. I thought that if I can download the exact version of Labview (8) to the new system, I can just copy the old program to the new system without any adjustment needed. I'm not an expert in Labview and try to avoid errors. Anyway, I guess I can't avoid it. Thank you!
