Combo box values must be unique

In our combo box we strings on the left and values on the right. The strings are descriptive but I want a couple of strings to have the same value on the right side. However when I set the same value in to places on the right side I LV will not let me close the box. I think that should be my choice not LV's. Any way around this draconian edict?

I also find this a bit annoying but I typically cheat by adding spaces and then following the Combo Box with 'Trim Whitespace'

I'm not sure what you mean by having strings on the left and values on the right. Could you post a screenshot of your front panel with an example of what you are attempting, and I'll look into whether there is another workaround, aside from the one that Darin.K posted? In either case, if Darin.K's workaround suits your particular application, I can see no reason not to use it.
