Hi All,

I'm new using collector & statistic (arithmetic mean). I would like to ask is that the two express vi I used, the main objective is to smoothen signals. Am I right?

Hi Isa,

Those VIs are actually not design for such a purpose, but you can average signal to filter noise out also.

There is another Express VI like filter that you can use for smoothen signal by using low pass filter.

then what's the purpose of the collector? and the statistic (arithmetic means)?

Hi Isabella,

Just like what their name's imply, it uses for collecting number of signal points as your configuration.

Statistic vi also use for doing statistic calculation on your signal.

If you wish to know funciton of each vi, press Ctrl+H to open context help window, and point a cursor to the vi.
