While assisting in this thread, I found an error in the detailed help documentation for the Chirp Pattern.vi. The error goes back to LV 8.0 when this VI was introduced, but part of the error was corrected and a new part created between LV 8.0 and LV2010. It appears that the attempt to correct the error introduced a new error. The error was still present in the LV2011 beta2.
The normalized frequency units should be cycles/sample, not the reciprocal. This was correct in the LV8 help and is wrong in LV2010.
The chirp frequency range should be f1*fs to f2*fs, where f1 and f2 are the normalized beginning and ending frequenices and fs is the sample rate. This was wrong in the LV8 help and is correct in LV2010.
See the link above for an example calculation. I ran the VI with the values from that example and the waveforms appear to be as expected.

Thanks for pointing this out, johnsold. We always appreciate your extra set of eyes. There was a Corrective Action Request (CAR) logged about this previously as it was corrected in 2011. If you are in doubt about documentation, it is best to use the newest versions.

I have not seen the final version of LV 2011 yet. The error was still there in LV2011 beta 2.
Thanks,
Lynn

Good point. I might as well have sent to you to a dead link. Anyway, I hope you are enjoying the Beta version.
