Channel Selection for SCXI Hardware

I am working with a PCI-6036E controlling a SCXI 1000DC containing three SCXI 1122 Voltage Modules and one SCXI 1102 Thermocouple Module.  I am a relative new user.  I have been using the example programs (SCXI 1122 Voltage.vi & SCXI 1102 Thermocouple.vi) successfully, but I would like to adapt these to be able to select any channel, temperature or voltage, from any module by using the virtual channels created in MAX, either DAQmx or tradtional.  So far I have had no success. 

Any suggestions?

I would start with the Getting Started with DAQmx and LabVIEW in 6 Hours series linked below my signature. They are excellent starting points for someone new to LabVIEW and DAQmx.
