I installed LabVIEW 2011. Then for some other work, had to install 2010 as well. Both work fine.
I am trying to install an executble VI (built with 2010 LabVIEW) and it installs fine, but won't run because it needs "a version 2010 LabVIEW Run-time Engine."
I download this from ni.com and it won't install because it says a newer version is already installed. I am running WIN 7 64bit.
NI's website clearly says an exectuble from an older version needs an older Run-time engine, and that one is able to install different versions of Run-time.
WHY WON"T THIS INSALL??

It's usually best to install LabVIEW version in increasing numbers. I.e., install 2010 first, then install 2011. You did it bass ackwards. That said, the installation of 2010 should have installed its own Run-Time Engine. Look in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time folder. (If you installed 32-bit it would be "Program Files (x86)") Do you see separate Run-Time installations?

I unintalled everything (NI related) from my laptop using MSI Blast and will do a fresh installation in the order you mentioned. Thanks!
