Can separate compiled code from source file be used as save for previous version default?

Hello, I have a work machine with Labview 2011 and a home computer with Labview 2010.  I have all my VI's saved in a Dropbox in the cloud so they're all in one spot.  However, it's annoying to have to resave every VI I open in 2011 as a previous version in a new location.  If I convert all my VI's to the "seperate compiled code from source file" will this allow Labview 2010 on my home computer to open 2011 VI's?

Or does anyone have another option that doesn't create duplicates of all my VI's as different versions?

Use same LabVIEW version on both PCs.
