Can not Open exe file that is created by Labview 2010 SP1

Hi Everyone,

My Operating system is XP .. I installed .net latest version but I can not open exe file. I try to open  exe file, then  crashes , quits without seeing any interface.

I tried with another computer whose o.s is xp too. I can open exe file. I saw it is created by Labview 2010 Sp1

I dont know what the difference is. I attached config file.

Are you running the exe on your development system? If not, does it run there without the crash?

Are you sure that all depending drivers and components (you mentioned .NET for instance) are installed properly?

@Norbert

No, I dont have any development system.

I just have a setup file which included LV runtime and main program.

Main program does not open and  shuts itself down if I wan to open it.

I have a usb connection cable but The driver installed properly (windows did this automatically)

Do  I need any other components besides .Net?

That's a question only the provider of the application can answer.

You could also take a look into the system event log if there is an indication for the reason of the application failing to start properly. It is possible that certain services are required for the application, but they do not run on the machine.

Another point is possibly missing rights. So you might want to test the application once with the option "Run as Admin" (right click menu item on the application shortcut or the exe itself).

Hi

You said the EXE was opened on another PC but does not open here. It could be that the EXE is programmed to EXIT when there is an error?

You can compare the C:\Program Files\National Instruments folder on both PCs to see if there are any other NI components missing on one.

Also, you have a LV RunTime which is not LV2010SP1. You have a higher version, may be LV 2011 or more.

Try to get that uninstalled and install only the LV2010SP1, which is needed by the EXE.

Do the program communicate via serial port or similar? If so, do you have VISA installed?

I check the file size. Its same at both computers. For you information I just have a single setup file. It does both National Instruments folder and The other file (Where I run exe file) ... exe file  works for one comp. but i didnt for 3-4 computers..

I still dont know why 😞 I dont think I need to setup any other files which is related national instruments because I do not setup any other file for the one comp that works well.

Hi

You said it does not work on 3 or 4 computers, but works only one computer.

did you install the same setup file on all the 4 computers?

also, do they have Measurement and Automation Explorer(MAX) installed? If so, can you take a screen shot of the expanded Software list shown in the picture? Click on software and you will get a list of NI software installed on the PC.
