Can Labview automatically save emails as TXT file ?

I receive an email in Outlook. I would like Labview to detect that some times, and to save the email as a TXT file. I know that I will receive one and only one email per day...
Thanks a lot !

I would suggest one of two things:

One, use ActiveX or other automation to control Outlook.

Second, have LabVIEW pull the mail from the server. This will be much easier and direct, and allow you to parse out the text of the email.

Emails are not just simple text. They are an entire format to themselves (usually MIME???) There is probably documentation of the format, but a little bit of experimentation by looking at the contents of the text will allow you to parse out just the message.

I strongly suggest you get a copy of the internet toolkit. This includes everything you need to pull emails off of a server. With some creative configuration of Outlook, you can even have LabVIEW pull just the email from the server seperately from Outlook.

Anyw
ay, look at your options.

Hello,

Wiht ActiveX you can read out mail from outlook, you get al mail items in
separate indicators such as body, subject, attachment name.
You also can delete mail in Outlook from Labview and save attachments to
files. And I think you can save the mail to a text file, but I did not use
that option.

On ni.com there is an example on sending mail with ActiveX on Outlook.
There is no example to retrieve mail from outlook, but I have an example if
you want.

You don't need the internettoolkit if you use Outlook for the email
communication with the mailserver.

Best regards, Wouter
