Can I programically (LabVIEW 7)import custom scales from a file into traditional NI-DAQ custom scales?

I have set up using Measurement & Automation Explorer (M&AE)V3.0 under "Data Neighborhood" several Table custom scales for several analog inputs. Under "Scales" in the "Traditional NI-DAQ Custom Scales", I find the option to import the custom scale type (linear, poly, table)values from a file. My question is this. Can I programically using LabVIEW 7.0 import these custom scale values into M&AE and update the existing scaled values?

Hey Jimmy D,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to create a custom scale in LabVIEW and have it programmatically update the custom scales inside of MAX. There have been product suggestions concerning this feature, and the possibility of this feature existing is being taken into account for future releases of LabVIEW, MAX, and NI-DAQ (no promises, sorry). If you'd like, I would suggest to make another product suggestion by going to Contact NI. The product suggestions are taken very seriously and sometimes can lead to the newest features in our latest release of products. I know this isn't the answer that you were hoping to find, but it's the only one that I have for you. I apolo
gize.

Have a great day.

Hey Jared A,

Is it possible to programmatically (LabVIEW 7.1, NI-DAQ 7.3.1, PCI-6251) update the custom scales inside of MAX if I use NI-DAQmx device?

Hello Varmith,

I'm not sure what you mean by using NI-DAQmx Device to update a custom scale. However, if my assumptions are correct, the answer to your question is no. There is no way to programmatically update custom scales inside of MAX. You will have to manually make them, and once made, they are static unless a user again physically changes them

Hope this helps.
