Can I connect of a remote computer using its IP address and download files from that computer

I would like to access remote computers using their IP Addresses and then take file from the harddrive and search for data. Is there a way to do this using LabView? Thank You

The first method that comes to mind is the good 'ol command line. The "net use" command lets you assign a drive letter to a shared folder on a remote system. You can use an IP address to specify the system. Once you've got it attached to a drive letter, use the normal Copy function. Be sure to disconnect when your finished. Also, you will need to have share access to the remote folder.

NET USE does work with WinNT. You must make sure that you have file sharing turned on for the folder you want to reach. There must be a share name assigned in Windows. The default is an invisible share name, so you should add a new share name and call it somethign simple like Share. Then point your NET USE command to that IP address and share name. Ask your friendly IT staff about it. 🙂

I've gone the NET USE route before, but it just wasn't my cup of tea... I've been using RHUB for remote access, and it's been a huge boon for my company. It's easy to use, and it's very secure.
