Hello everyone
Can anyone explain to me what procedures do i adopt to calibrate a NI9215 module (with tightening terminals) and a NI9472 module?
Is there a defined procedure?
I'm based on a cRIO-9053.

If you browse the manuals you find the calibration procedure
🙂
Don't know if the declaired chassis NI cDAQ-9178 is needed... however for a calibration (comparison with known voltage cource and uncertainty) the procedure should run on any chassis...

Hello Henrik
Thanks by your support.
I found the manuals but my key question is : I can't calibrate the equipment with cRIO 9053? Only with NI cDAQ-9178?

Sorry, NO , the key question is: What calibration do need? Do you need it traceable? Acceditated? Just the analog input values? or additional the timebase? or the frequency response? or just the stamp 😉 or ?
The best calibration you can make is in YOUR application, with YOUR settings and YOUR sensors/transducers to apply known input (... incl. uncertainty 😉 )
Since you have the hardware to read the 9215, the 'simplest' additional hardware you need is one known voltage source in the range you want to measure... and while you estinate your uncertainty budget, you will find that a value near full scale is recommended 😄
Maybe the requested chassis have better temp control or is the only one you can use to write back the eeprom ... (including adjustment) ... i don't know. I would give it a try 🙂 (without adjustment and writing back to eeprom) if you can run the calibration vis, chance is high that you can write the eeprom ... just keep in mind that this is usually done by trained personal 😉 (I do this for my PXI devices .. I have access to a Fluke 5700 , atomic time base, .. )

Okay i will explain.
It's only needed the calibration to present for higher authorities, so i need an acreditation with a stamp on the cards. To have this i'm going to a place where they can certify the calibration, but i need to give them the software to do that and i don't know what to put in their hands for these two cards...

Well, the 9472 is a 24V DO , so a functional test should be sufficient 🙂
The recommended 8 slot cDAQ chassis, where only slot 8 and rest empty should be used for calibration and adjustment... mmmh I guess that is mainly to reduce EMC 😉 so if you provide your actual setup, a calibration better much better represents your actual capabilities.
You just have to write a simple LabVIEW program to read the voltage according to the cal manual and display the result.
For a formal calibration that should be sufficient, the lab can do a calibration, write a report .. and stamp it 🙂
Nice would be to also to write the calibration date (and temp of calibration) into the eeprom of the 9215.
All calibration vis I used in the past (but no cDAQ) had a boolean 'write' input at the 'close calibration task' to finally confirm to write. Until you don't set it TRUE you can test your software.
If you need to perform an adjustment you need to write and test some more software ....and to test it you need a stable voltage source and a good (5.5 better 6.5 digit) multimeter ..
