Background of Control Refnum under win2000 problem

Hi,

I have noticed that when my VIs that have Control Refnums on the front panel are opened on a PC running Win2000, The background decoration, of the Control Refnum control, has grown and it is impossible to resize it again. Its as if it takes on the size of the actual control.
Anyone notice this and is there a cure.

I was just playing around with control refnums on 2000, and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. LabVIEW sizes everything by pixels, which might vary from one system to the next. You might want to compare your display settings on the 2000 machine versus some machine that doesn't show the problem. Check the resolution and also the small/large fonts setting in the Advanced settings. The problem might be a little more clear to us if you included a VI that demonstrates the issue.

Find attached an example. Just open the DigitalWaveform Create.vi. The Control Refnum is off screen.

Your example demonstrated your problem on machine as well (windows 98). I gotten vis from other people online that have also demonstrate the same thing. I've found that on my machine if I select Show Control from the pop-up menu, then select Show Icon the refnum control will go back to the correct size.

Hi Brian,

I have done the Show Control | Show Icon and have now put the refnum control back to the normal size. I must admit, although I had tried this on other refnum controls, to see what the effect was, I hadnt tried this action on the problem refnum control. At least they are back to normal.... for the moment.
