An error occurred trying to load the assembly

I'm having issues getting an assembly (iTextSharp) to load. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Things I've tried:

  • Verified the DLL was "Unblocked" in Windows security settings
  • Verified the DLL didn't have missing dependencies (it doesn't - it is a standalone DLL)
  • Checked security permissions for the DLL.
  • Tried loading in 32bit (LV 2025 Q3) and 64bit (LV 2023 Q3) versions of LabVIEW
  • Tried loading with LabVIEW run as Administrator Both 32 and 64 bit
  • Added <loadFromRemoteSources enabled="true" to a LabVIEW.exe.config file. Both 32 and 64 bit
  • Rebooted the computer multiple times because why not?

At this point I've exhausted everything I've seen in knowledge articles and forum posts... other than people saying it just magically started working!

Anything that I missed / haven't tried?

I have just used this:
https://github.com/isindicic/DependencyWalker.Net

To look for load problems with a .net dll.

Make sure that your dependency walker can load .nett dll's, and not c++.

The OG Dependency Walker, that your picture look like, I'm not sure it can go through .net dll's.

I'm highly confident it isn't a dependency issue.

Okay, I don't what version your are using of iTextSharp, so I just took the latest I could get.
I on Win10 and LabVIEW CE 2024 Q3

Dependency Walker looks like this:

And my LabVIEW loaded it fine:

It just had one dependency of BouncyCastle.Cryptograhy.

Thanks for double checking... that confirms it isn't a DLL issue. iTextSharp is known to work in LabVIEW (Jean-Marc's Exaprom PDF works well).

I just can't figure out why it isn't loading for me and its driving crazy.

What version do you try to load ?
And have you tried to use the Dependency Walker that I linked to?

And do you have another version of LabVIEW in 32bit ?
