Adding text to different tree columns

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm trying to manipulate the second and third columns of a tree, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to write (or even read for that matter) to any column other than the first.

There don't seem to be any real good examples out there and I have exhausted all possibilities. Any help would be appreciated.

I did something like this about a year ago.  Unfortunately, I don't have the code -- but I do remember the frustration.

IIRC, there was something you had to do to set the active cell -- through a property node.  Does that help?

From what I've read here all I've gathered is that you have to use a Property Node>>Active Cell>>ActiveColNum

But I haven't gotten anywhere past that

That helps jog my memory.

After you set the property, then you set the cell value.  You may be able to set an entire column at a time.  Can't remember for sure.

Hi NelsonUWP,

first you have to add a new element to the tree, then you can use "ActiveObject" and "ActiveCell" to set the other fields. See the attached example.

Ah, thank you so much. I was also not using the child tag, which apparently is a huge deal.
