Removing high acceleration changes and the low acceleration milliseconds before it sounds really great in this case!
I would go with this idea of spike identification and removal into a brain science forum and ask for help.
Another way that I think is even better is to offer the idea to a company like logitech and ask them to add a machine learning basic algorithm to the driver so you could adjust the ignore pattern.
If they are not into it offer the idea as a 500$ job in one of the freelancing sites, mouse driver is relatively simple and there are many people that would love to help even for free.
