Access denied error when starting DIAdem from LabVIEW

Unfortunately we had to punt on finding a solution, so we may never know what really caused the problem.  The customer's PC supplier suspected that perhaps the problem is related to the fact that the machine was designed to run with Windows Vista, but was downgraded to Windows XP.  They suspect that there could possibly have been an incompatible BIOS or firmware driver causing the problem as the machine was joined to the domain.

We also discovered another ni.com thread which may be related to the same problem.

In any case however, rather than investing more time debugging a seemingly endless problem, we chose to punt and return to square one with a new computer.

I hope that this information is useful in determining the actual cause of the problem, however I don't intend to investigate it further at this time (perhaps in the future).
