AO repettitively triggered

Is it possible to have an AO repettitively triggered without using software to reset the trigger? In other words can I not have the thing in a loop, and still have the DAC updated with a trigger?

The problem I'm havinbg is I have to generate a waveform (at ~100k) once every 50 ms. I have a trigger to start it, but that needs to be in a loop to have it generate the waveform on any other trigger rather than the first. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

A couple of things that you can do is use external update clock gating if your trigger has a controllable pulse width, or you can set up a counter for retriggerable pulse generation and use that pulse to gate another counter performing finite pulse train generation. The output of the second counter can be used as the update clock. Another option is to use the retriggerable pulse from the first counter to gate the update clock.

Hope this helps.
