AO Error -10401

Hi,  
     I am trying to use the VI AO Update Channels (or any AO data aquisition vi) with an NI PCI-6723 extended card and recieving error -10401 whenever I run the VI. The PCI card is connected to a NI SCC-68 box. I can see the PCI card in Measurment and Automation Explorer and using the test pannel I can change the output voltage and the card/box respond accordingly (checked with a multimeter), it also passes the self test. I have tried re-installing the driver, but am told that I have the most up to date version. Is there an additional way to configure the PCI-6723 to make it recoginizable to LabVIEW?    
    I am running Windows XP on an hp compaq PC, LabVIEW 7.1, Traditional NI DAQ 7. There is also an NI PCI-4070 card installed, though it is not in use.

You can't use traditional DAQ with that board according to http://www.ni.com/support/daq/versions_pci_pxi.htm. It's only supported by DAQmx. Are you sure that you're not seeing and testing the board with DAQmx in MAX?
