ADC conversion attempted before the prior conversion was complete (NI-9219)

While measuring voltage using NI9219, it suddenly shows this error and stopped the measurement.

After that, the same error shows up when I try to run the measurement.

Measurement was fine with the setup, so I dont think it is the setup problem.

Hi Danny,

 

what happens when you set a rate less than 1.95Hz (like 1.90Hz or 1.75Hz)?

Changing the rate does not fix the problem.

I tried to change every setting I can, but the same error still occurs.

Hi Danny,

 

Are you using an external clock or an onboard clock?

If external, at what rate are you trying to sample?

Have you checked to ensure this sample rate is within the parameters defined in the device specification sheet?

Hi, Austin.

Thanks for the reply.

I do not use any external clock.

I used this device fine with the current setup, so I doubt it is the setting problem.

There was a chance that over-voltage flowed during measurement.

After that, it does not let me use any kinds of measurement with the same error (Voltage, current, strain, etc).

but I can see the device in MAX, and self-test says fine, Power LED is on.

I am not sure what to do.

Hi Danny,

 

Can you provide some details to your application?

What type of sensors are you using?

What is the expected input voltage range from the sensors?

 

Based on the NI 9219 datasheet (available in the below link), the overvoltage protection on terminals 1 and 2 are +-30V and on terminals 3 through 6 is +-60V. If it is possible that the input exceeded these ranges, there is a chance that the module is damaged. Do you have another module that you could use to run the same task to see if this issue is module specific?

If not, can you input a known source, like a function generator, to test and see if the module is able to take these measurements? If it cannot, it is likely that the device was damaged. If this is the case, feel free to call us at (866) 275-6964 to proceed with creating a request to service this module.
