I had a similar issue trying to install an older version of DAQmx on a windows 7 computer. If you run the installation in Vista compatibility mode it works without the corrupt installer error. This was pretty nice considering the number of .msi files I would have had to run manually as described by the NI workaround (there were dozens). Your mileage may vary, perhaps an older or newer compatibility mode will apply in your case.
